Ms. Kristen Fine

1st Grade Teacher

My name is Kristen Fine and this will be my third year teaching First Grade at the Skyway Campus. This will be my 13th year teaching elementary education! I am super excited to make this my best year yet! I grew up in South Florida where I graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree from Palm Beach State College. In December 2007, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-6 from Florida International University.

I was not always a strong reader growing up, but luckily, I had an amazing First Grade teacher that instilled permanent reading skills and opened my eyes to the amazing adventures one can find within a book. Because of this experience, I chose to become a teacher so that I can spark a passion for reading among my students at Galileo and help create meaningful, lifelong readers.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy cooking and baking big family dinners. On sunny days, my time is spent outdoors biking, fishing and kayaking along coastal waters collecting new rocks and shells to add to my 300-gallon saltwater fish tank!
