Mr. Jeremy Lucas

5th Grade Teacher

Mr. Lucas has been a classroom teacher for more than ten years, striving to be as much a student as he is a teacher, endlessly reflecting, day after day, on ways to better himself, his peers, and most importantly, the generation of children who walk through his door. From 2010-2013, Mr. Lucas worked as a fourth grade teacher at one of the largest Title I elementary schools in Palm Beach County before moving back to Central Florida with his wife in 2013 and building three separate coding and design courses at Milwee Middle School over six years. In search of continuing innovation, he joined Galileo in 2019, eager to serve in a community of dragons.

To support his love of education, Mr. Lucas is also an adjunct research librarian with the University of Central Florida and an author of five books, one that was written for educators and two that were written for children, grades 4-8. He holds a Masters in Library Science from FSU and consistently buys more books than he can keep up with reading, most notably, a growing collection of more than 200 presidential memoirs, biographies, and rare papers. Mr. Lucas currently owns a home in Lake Mary with his loving wife of twenty years, a CPA with Verizon.
