Mrs. Dayana Aponte
3rd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Aponte was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Philadelphia at the age of 7. She attended Philadelphia Public Schools throughout her childhood. She graduated from the Philadelphia High School for Girls with her International Baccalaureate Diploma. She attended and graduated from Eastern University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Mrs. Aponte worked in adoptions for two years before obtaining her master’s degree in education from Gwynedd Mercy University and changing careers to her calling- teaching. She has taught second and third grade for six years at the School District of Philadelphia. She is excited to begin a new journey at Galileo. Her favorite part about teaching is showing students that learning can be challenging, but also fun. She had amazing teacher mentors during her childhood who she continues to emulate to instill in children a love for learning.
Mrs. Aponte enjoys crafting with her Cricut machine, scroll sawing, and going out to fun places with her two boys and husband.
